String Art is Back! Create this Modern Anchor String Art by following a few simple steps!

 Supplies:
  • Unfinished Wood Board (Don-95)
  • Pebbles "Lakeside" Paper Collection 3 - 12x12 sheets of wood paper
  • Embroidery String (Color 820)
  • Darice 13mm Mini Nails
  • Hammer
  • Bead Crimper Pliers
  • 2 - Eye Hooks
  • Large Jute String 12" long
  • Mod Podge Matte Finish
  • Foam Brush
  • Tim Holtz Distressed ink Black Soot
  • Elmers glue
Directions:
  1. Paint an even coat of Mod Podge on the front and sides of your wood surface. Let Dry.
  2. Cut your paper to fit your wood board, then paint another layer of Mod Podge and lay paper over the top to fit on your board and do the same on the sides of your board.
  3. Using Tim Holtz Distressed ink, ink the sides of your board.
  4. Down load a shape your would like on to plain paper or trace an image you would like to use.
  5. Place on the top of your wood board, then using Bead Crimper Pliers hold each nail into position and hammer into wood. (The pliers keeps you from hammering your fingers)
  6. Once you have out lined your anchor, remove your template. Then string the outside of your Anchor shape. Start where ever you would like, make a small knot to hold the string into place.
  7. After you have finished stringing the outside, string the inside of your anchor. Once you are finished tie off and give string a dab of glue on your starting knot and ending knot.
  8. Place 2 eye hooks in the top of your wood board and sting jute to create a handle.
