Designer Spotlight Erica Thompson

Today we are pleased to introduce Design Team Member, Erica Thompson! We fell in love with her love of layers, memorabilia, and "Smash Book" style scrapbooking. Although we can't help but notice her love of linear lines. Take a look at what inspires Erica!

I have been crafting ever since I was in Jr. High School.  My mom gave me a scrapbook for Valentine's Day and I fell in love with memory keeping!  I would create albums for my friends and cut up magazines, and newspapers to use different letter shapes and words for my titles and journaling.  I loved to create collages and even had a wall in my bedroom that was completely covered in all my favorite things, photos, movies stubs, letters, postcards!  It was like one big smash wall!

I am inspired by many different things, events, and people in my life.  My babies inspire me everyday and they are my main subjects in my layouts!  My mind is always going and the smallest things can set me off and inspire me to create like a billboard  a magazine ad and even a bag from a fast food restaurant!

I love just about anything I can get my crafty little hands on!  The scrapbook supplies are fabulous and I can not get enough of the Thickers.  I tend to be a little bit of a hoarder when it comes to Thickers.  Inks and color mists are also  products that I just love to use!  I love to have a variety of different inks and color sprays to add to my projects!

Do not be afraid to get a little crafty!  I often hear people say "I am just not that creative"!  Everyone is creative in their own way and you just have to go for it!  There are no mistakes when creating and everyone has their own style so just do what looks and feels good to you!  Do not be afraid to get a little messy and crazy with it either!  Sometime the best projects are the ones that are just put together with out a plan and a lot of mess!

Take a look at Erica's other projects including cards, party decor, and gifts at her blog here! You can also follow her on Instagram at @medga902, Pinterest, and Facebook! Come back tomorrow where Erica will share a scrapbook page tutorial using a new collection by Echo Park!
