No Sew Fleece Pillow

Have a sports fan in the house or need a gift for one?

These No Sew Fleece Pillows are so easy you can have it done in 30 min!

No Sew Fleece Pillow @craftsavy, #craftwarehouse, #fleece, #fabric, #pillow, #sports

Supplies:
  • 5/8 yard of fleece fabric
  • 1 - 14" pillow form
  • Sharp scissors or rotary cutter and mat
  • Ruler

 Directions:
  1. Cut 2 - 20" squares from fleece. Stack the 2 pieces with wrong sides together
  2. Cut a 4"square out of each corner. I know this sounds weird, but you wont be able to tie the corners if you leave out this step.
  3. To create the tie fringe, every 1" you need to cut 4" long fringe. (see in photo) Do all 4 sides.
  4. Begin tying in a corner, using a double knot. Make sure the knots are tight! After tying 3 sides insert the pillow form and finish tying the remaining sides.
  5. Wasn't that easy?

We cut the bases off the bottles, added a little sand and tea lights in a glass tray
and placed bottles over the tea lights.

This would also look great on a long piece of reclaimed wood as a long centerpiece using multiple bottles. With battery operated tea lights you don't have to worry about the flame, just sit back and enjoy the glow!

Doily Transformation

Did you know you can color doilies with Alcohol Inks?

Simply place doily in a plastic bag with a zipper top- add a few drops of the Alcohol ink color of choice, close zipper and then 'smoosh' and knead the doily inside the bag until fully coated. Dries instantly.

This same process can be used to color sand or glitter!

Paper Mache Pumpkin

The Paper Mache Pumpkin crop is in!

Love vintage?- decoupage them with newsprint!
Prefer your pumpkins glamorous? (and shiny) Spray paint them with mirror paint spray.
Traditionalist? Paint them orange with craft paint.
OR- what if you painted them with chalkboard paint!!! - Whoa!...

Paper Mache Pumpkin Diy @craftsavy, #craftwarehouse, #diy, #chalkypaint, #papermache

Here we painted the Paper Mache Pumpkins with Americana Black Chalkboard Paint.

Then "Seasoned" the pumpkin ( this is when you take a piece of white chalk and rub it all over the surface, then lightly whip off the extra chalk flakes, this makes it look like a chalkboard instead of just black paint)

Then we used a white Bistro Marker to add the white lines.

Finish off with a burlap ribbon tied to the top!

Tip: You can also use regular chalk and right words like "SPOOKY" for Halloween and "THANKFUL" for Thanksgiving.
Or if you are a Zentangle Art Doodle fan you could Zentangle it!

Paper Mache Pumpkin Diy @craftsavy, #craftwarehouse, #modpodge, #diy, #glitter

For a Vintage Look: we decoupage newspaper on to the Paper Mache Pumpkin.

Rip your newspaper or tissue into 1" squares.

Paint a layer of Mod Podge all over the pumpkin and allow to dry.

Then place another layer of  Mod Podge and place paper over the wet Mod Podge adhesive.

Continue this technique until your pumpkin is covered.

If you would like it to look a little more rustic add Tim Holtz distressed ink with a distressed dabber.

Or Glitter It! Just cover sections with Mod Podge and glitter it! We used super fine glitter but any glitter is sure to sparkle!

Pumpkin DIY Mason Jars

Happy Fall Y'all! Get this pretty vintage finish by using chalk paint on the outside of your clean clear canning jar.

This paint sticks to the glass! For a distressed look you can lightly sand the dried paint with sandpaper.

Americana Decor Chalky Paint Pumpkin Mason Jars @craftsavy, #craftwarehouse, #diy, #masonjar, #AmericanaDecor,#americanadecorchalkypaint

Directions:
  1. Clean glass and lids with soapy water, then go over the our side of the glass with rubbing alcohol. (This helps make sure there is no moisture on the glass and the paint will adhere easier)
  2. Choose the color you want to paint your glass, sponge paint on to glass using a blotting motion.
  3. Let first layer completely dry.
  4. Paint 2-3 more layers allowing each layer to dry.
  5. Paint the top of the mason jars lid and metal ring. Using the same technique as you did for the jars.
  6. We used wood dowel rod caps for the top. Paint with chalky paint to match the lid.
  7. Screw lid on the mason jar once dry.
  8. Glue dowel to the top of the lid using E6000 glue.
  9. Take a 8" strip of green floral wire and bend it in a loop around the bottom of the dowel cap, then twist the wire around a pen or pencil to give it a curl. trim extra wire.
  10. Add ribbon as your final touch and you are done!
