Scrapbooking Blog Party: mini card challenge

Hello, fellow scrapbookers and crafters.... My name is Laura Cook. I am passionate about scrapbooking and paper crafting. I have been so blessed to be able to be part of the so inspiring, 2010 Craft Warehouse Design Team! I hope you will join in the party and reply to this challenge called 'A little bit of Love' ! It is super easy to play along.
If you are just joining us you will want to start at Craft Warehouse Weekend Blog Party
and follow all the great challenges that have been posted over the weekend.

- For my challenge all you need to do is:
Create a 'little' card... (my card examples shown below are 3" by 3")
*a little bit of time
*a little embellishment
*a little greeting on the front
*a little bit of hand-written 'love' on the inside
What a blessing it is to receive a card, a hand-written note of encouragement, a 'thank you' or a little 'hello'...
So, let's get creative. Make a small card and give away some love to that special person(s) on your mind.
This 'little' amount of time and creative energy can show LOVE and compassion in BIG ways if only we are willing!

So, if you are up for the challenge, follow the directions below to post your card(s)
Even though there is no prize for this challenge, there are many other ways to win-

Scrapbooking Blog Party: Out of the Ordinary

Hi friends! Jennifer here again and I just finished eating a cupcake with cream cheese frosting  just to get into the party mood. Yum... wanna come over and have some with me?

I can't help it. I love getting my hands dirty and sticky when I create! It's even better when they are stained with paint. Thinking outside the box helps me to stretch my creativity when I am unsure what to do on my next layout. I love using items out of the ordinary.

Here are a few examples:

I love using zippers! You can unzip the zipper half way down and let other things peek through. Here is a page from a mini book I created for Craft Warehouse with Pink Paislee's Daily Junk line. Plus, there are so many colors to choose from! Your quilting section of Craft Warehouse has loads of colors to choose from.

Thread comes in all colors! Why not use it as an embellishment on a page? Note, when using thread it can get everywhere I may not want it. I usually use gel medium to adhere it and then I leave it alone to dry. I have been known to use a hot glue gun to get it under control too. ;)

I can't help but look for acrylic sheets to add to my albums. This one is by Fancy Pants Designs but I am now using my Big Shot by Sizzix to create see through pages. I love to be able to see through to the next page in my albums.

Found vintage treasures. You name it and I will put it on a page. ;)

That's the challenge. Find something that you wouldn't normally use on a page like zippers, spray paint, tickets, ribbon, tags, scrabble tiles, thread, game pieces, or silk flowers. Then create a page or paper project with it!

Just for fun, comment and tell me your favorite "out of the ordinary" item that you have used. I would love to hear about it!

Remember, you can still enter the challenges below until Tuesday at midnight, PST!

Scrapbooking Blog Party: Color Crush Challenge

Craft Warehouse knows how to throw a party!  I hope you are enjoying the festivities found here all weekend long.  If this post is your first visit, check out the first Blog Party post from Friday morning.

Rebecca Grinder here to introduce our next challenge!  Do you play favorites when it comes to color?  I have to admit that I have a crush…a color crush on turquoise.  Bright pinks are lovely too.  A crisp bright coral is delightful and creamy yellow is dreamy!  Yes, I love color and its one reason I enjoy paper crafting so much!  My challenge to you is to create a layout or card using one of the following Color Crush Challenge photographs to spark your creativity.

Color Crush Tourquoise and Brown

Color Crush Spring Green

Crafting Tip:  Need help jump starting your creative juices?  Have you ever created a mood or inspiration board?   It’s a board where you hang a collage of products or magazine clippings to inspire you visually.  Pick products that strike your fancy and that coordinate artistically.  Did you just purchased a few doo-dads that match or are you holding onto a special embellishment?  Attach them to a cork board and plan your next layout or card around them.

There is no prize for entering this challenge, but we would still like to see what you create!  Share your Color Crush Challenge take by using Mr Linky below.

You can still  enter to win the other prize giveaways before midnight, Tuesday Pacific Standard Time.
* Only those in the contiguous United States may enter to win.*  The winning entries will be randomly picked by Random.org and then listed on the blog, Wednesday, May 25th.

Have fun and party on!
