Kristie Cucchiari is a talented crafter! We love that she is fabulous at paper crafting, altered art, and she even can sew! This is why Kristie is this month's Guest Designer! You can find more inspiration on her blog, Snippets Craft Boutique!
How long have you been crafting?
I
have been crafting—well—nearly all of my life. My mother, grandmother,
and aunts encouraged me to join them crafting while growing up. I
always found a way to participate, whether
it be sewing, painting, or scrapping. I love to make mini albums,
cards, alter/recycle, and sew. Most recently, I have been designing
digital products for use in digital scrapbooking and hybrid projects.
What inspires you to be creative?
Without
a doubt—smiles are my inspiration. I love to make gifts for family
and friends, and I try a create things that would be special for them.
For additional inspiration, I also
look through Paper Craft, and Simply Handmade magazines or
head out to the internet (to various galleries or Pinterest) to get new
ideas. Knowing that what I make can put a smile on someone’s face, or
when a homemade gift of mine can communicate
the depth of my love exactly when it is needed is all of the inspiration
I need.
What Craft Warehouse products do you love to use?
I
love to alter things—anything! Thankfully the Craft Warehouse has a
great selection of all kinds of alterable products—especially wood. As
well, the Craft Warehouse always has wonderful
projects on display (and a great selection of fabrics!) which inspire me
to get creative. I also love the scrapbooking paper lines, like Echo Park, K and Company and Basic Grey.
How can you encourage others reading this column?
Something
that every crafting-inclined person needs know is that there really is
enough time! I’m a busy mom, with three very active boys, and all kinds
of other things that vie for
my time. In spite of how busy I am, I find that as long as I allow it,
my creativity will always find a time, and an outlet.
Make sure to check back tomorrow, where Kristie will share simple baby sewing projects in preparation for National Quilt Month!
